Begin your journey with a visit to one of the most powerful places of worship, the 'Shaktipeeth' - Kamakhya Temple, after breakfast. Year after year, thousands of pilgrims visit this temple to pay tribute to Goddess Kamakhya. Visit the temple and perform puja in the morning. Head back and launch your trip to the National Park of Kaziranga, your mind will be refreshed by the road trip through the Assam highways with greenery and villages. Check-in at the jungle resort upon arrival. After this to explore the birthplace of the famous Assam Tea, visit a tea estate in the afternoon. At night come back to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Start your journey a little early, about 5.30 am, for a safari on the back of an elephant in the jungle and spend the whole morning observing animals in the western part of the park. The Kaziranga National Park covers an area of 430 square kilometres and is recognised worldwide as the home of exotic wild animals such as one-horned rhinoceroses, Royal Bengal tigers, Asian elephants, wild water buffalo and local 'Barasingha' swamp deer. Kaziranga is also a paradise for bird watchers and is home to some 500 bird species. Some of the species found here include the Crested Serpent Eagle, Grey-headed Fishing Eagle, Swamp Partridge, Bar-headed goose, whistling Teal, Bengal Florican, Storks, Herons, and Pelicans. Come back to the hotel for breakfast and after having the breakfast head towards Shillong, again your mind will be refreshed by the scenic beauty of Barapani lake in the road trip. After reaching Shillong check-in to the hotel and spend the rest of the night in leisure.
Today after breakfast heads toward Cherrapunji, the planet's wettest spot, your breath will be taken away by the greenery. Visit Nohkalikai Falls, India's tallest waterfall (1115 feet) and also be prepared to reveal the secrets of a few other caves near Cherrapunji too. Return to Shillong after this, enjoy a fascinating view of the entire city of Shillong from Shillong Peak. Shillong Peak is the highest point in the town, located at an altitude of 6449 ft. A visit to the beautiful Elephant Falls later on. Amid the lush green surroundings, this two-tier waterfall looks magnificent. It got its name when a British man discovered an enormous rock near the falls that resembled an elephant. The place is perfect for day trips and picnics. After this, come back to your hotel and stay in Shillong for the night.
Travel to Mawlynnong village after breakfast, deemed to be Asia's cleanest village. The path to the village is through the winding roads and the spectacular views that pass through the Shillong plateau clouds. A further hike to see the bridge of the living room found here (about 400 meters from the roadside). Walk around the village and explore the village population's lifestyle. After this wonderful village tour comes back to the hotel for lunch. Check-out from the hotel and drop off at Guwahati railway station/airport after lunch.
