In the serene hills of Munnar, an incredible tea plantation rests in the high elevations of Kolukkumalai. This wonderful half-day safari on a jeep headed off road and off the beaten paths takes you to the site of the highest tea estates in the world. You will be picked up right from your hotel in Munnar by the hardy jeep that you'll be taking up the hillsides. You'll leave right away, enjoying the long road upward to the plantation, as you experience the wilderness all around you. Jeep safari will take you off the usual touring paths and past numerous other tea plantations on the bumpy, rugged roads, so make sure you hold on! This long journey will also pass throughsome of the most stunning landscape views in Munnar, getting you great angles of the emerald hills. It's a great chance to take some snapshots or capture the panoramas as you go. See tea plantations, beautiful valleys, spice farms and more. And 25 kilometers up, you will finally reach what is known as the world’s highest organic tea growing estate. Here, in this picture perfect plantation, you can explore the rows of tea plants, see workers picking the fresh leaves, and even visit the factory to see how the process is done. You will see how the process is done on the spot. Afterwards, it's a rollercoaster down as the rugged hills and its hairpin-bend roads will feel like you're headed downhill on a thrill ride. It will be one incredible adventure that ends with a drop off safely back at your hotel.
Kolukkumalai tea is one of the premium tea in South India. Our Kolukkumalai Tea has been a winner of the "Golden Leaf" award given by UPASI (The United Planters' Association of Southern India) for the best quality Tea. Contrary to the other usual CTC tea produced by the other plantations, we are using Orthodox methods to process the tea leaves. Itinerary

Ride along the long road and head towards Kolukkumalai
Enjoy the adventure as you ride along jumpy and bumpy slopes of the Western Ghats
Visit a tea plantation and learn about tea making process from local staff, purchase tea at own expense if preferred
At the hill top, enjoy the splendid panoramic view of the surrounding villages of Munnar
Take a small break for lunch in a local restaurant (at your own expense)
Towards the end of the exciting trip, the last 10km will be really thrilling and challenging as the path has narrow and sharp curves

Started in the early 1900s the estate produces tea using the orthodox method in the time tested tea factory. Little has changed here since the colonial planters left leaving behind their legacy of one of the best quality tea you can get in South India. If we change or cancel
We do plan the arrangements in advance. It is unlikely that we will have to make any changes to your travel arrangements. Occasionally, we may have to make changes due to Force Majeure Events and we reserve the right to do so at any time before or during the trip. If there are any changes, we will advise you of them at the earliest possible date before or during the trip based on the Force Majeure Events. We also reserve the right under Force Majeure Events to cancel your travel arrangements / offer alternative dates / revise the itinerary before or during the trip. Any additional cost incurred due to the above- mentioned reasons will have to be borne by the traveller himself. There shall be no refund to the traveller under Force Majeure Events. Force Majeure Event shall mean and include any circumstance beyond the reasonable control of Adventure Nation, including without limitation, any act of nature or the public enemy, accident, explosion, fire, storm, earthquake, flood, drought, perils of the sea, casualty, strikes, lock-outs, labour troubles, riots, sabotage, terrorists acts, embargo, war (whether or not declared), governmental actions, delay in issuance or processing of Visa/permit, change of laws and regulations, orders, or decrees, or other causes of like or different character beyond the control of Adventure Nation.
If you want to change or cancel
After you make full or partial payment, if you wish to change your travel arrangements in any way (e.g. your chosen departure date or accommodation), we will do our utmost to make these changes but it may not always be possible. Any request for changes must be in writing from the person who made the booking. All cost incurred due to amendment will be borne by the traveller himself.
